People who have known me since college usually know that I love airplanes. I can trace my love of airplanes back to sitting in my living room in Manassas, VA, at the ripe age of seven, repeatedly watching the movie “The Final Countdown.” I probably watched that movie more than 50 times and my favorite part was always the F-14 Tomcats engaging the Japanese Zeros. Well, I’ve passed that love down to my son… maybe he inherited it, I don’t know. He loves airplanes, probably even more than me. With that, it was so exciting to take him to the opening airshow of the season for the US Air Force Thunderbirds. The weather was great, the kids were great, and all in all, it was a fun afternoon! Best of all, it was free and local!!!
