So we’ve decided on Saturday March 20th for Anna “Princess and Cowboy” birthday party. We decided to try something new here and not only do the RSVP through the comments to this blog entry, but also make a ‘Birthday Gift Registry.’ I know it’s hard to buy gifts for a 5 year old, especially if you don’t know what she already has! So I made a ‘wish list’ on Amazon with a few items I know she would like, and does not already have. If you do buy something from the list, you don’t have to do it from Amazon of course. If you buy it somewhere else though, please add a quick comment here and I’ll remove it from the wish list!

Invitations should be going out soon… it’s a kids’ party though so to my single adult friends, don’t wait too long by the mailbox!

It’s been well over a year and a half since I’ve blogged about the family. I’ve kind of depended on Facebook and our Picasa web album to do the work for us. Lately though, I’ve been a bit leery of the folks that try to follow our Picasa albums. Originally I started posting all of our pictures to Picasa to serve as a back up for our digital albums. I was never really intended for the casual observer, I just wanted to have them there for us, but also give the ability for close friends and family to download the high quality pics or print them for themselves. Well what I’ve decided to do is make the albums private and just share them with the closest family and friends. That should be happening next week. Then I’ll be using my Flickr account to post just the best pictures of the bunch and I’ll hopefully share/blog about them here.

I spent the past two days designing and building this new site to share a new blog and a few files we have emailed out in the past (newsletters and recipes etc). I’ll be going back through time and doing some nostalgia postings so look out for those! I’ll put the post date to when the event happened but I’ll note the date the post was actually written as well. Posts from before Holly and I were married will be in the ‘Historical’ category. I’m hoping to use this as a fun way to do more writing as well… I seem to do so little it these days.

We invited most of our Facebook friends to help our son Ben with a kindergarten project. Ben’s class at Ruckersville Elementary school decided to use Valentine’s Day to learn a lesson about geography. They asked us to request Valentine’s Day cards from our friends and family residing in different states and countries. The response for Ben was overwhelming and we can’t thank all of you enough for making it a special project for Ben! We even heard from one of his classmates that “Ben has sooo many Valentine’s!.”
